Welcome to the website of Ph. D. Candidate, Andras Kocsis.

András Kocsis is a Ph.D. Candidate and lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, Canada. The journey to his current professional situation was informed by an extensive pedagogical trajectory—first as a teacher educator, then a classroom teacher—via various multicultural and educational settings. He honed his leadership knowledge as an education policy advisor, and, most recently, as Co-chair of the Board of Directors for a Halifax private school.

As an activist, András likes to “connect the dots” between resources, activities, and outcomes; consequently, he has developed various innovative and beneficial service-learning programs to amplify how volunteer practices and social trends promote both subtle and substantive improvements in communities.

András’ theoretical interests are grounded in the foundations of philosophy of education and critical social theory; as the recipient of a Nova Scotia Research and Innovation Scholarship, he is researching the vital elements of critical thinking at the intersection of educational practice and policy.
